    Ah, Armageddons the one. I used to watch that all the time when I was 9 when our Mexican neighbor we got to fix our TV "accidentally" hooked us up with free HBO.

    Humanity will most likely be in post-singularity (a period of time after exponential technological growth) by 2036, so an insignificant little meteorite would be nothing a directed-energy weapon or high yield explosive couldn't handle.

    Nanotechnology could circumvent any mutation attempt by the virus. Instead of having to develop new drugs because the virus has made itself immune to the previous ones, you develop nanomachines that can eat through any new immunity or defense the virus has developed. Organic viruses can't make themselves immune to something inorganic.
    but, ricatwo, it's more fun to worry.
