I'm getting countrywide wifi by the end of the year, so battles anywhere is sweet cheese.

You need a router. DS is just wifi enabled.
How much are they?
$50 in my country. That's the special DS one that is portable so you carry it everywhere.

honestly i have no idea how to work my ds wifi or anything, if you could find some info for me it'd be mucho appreciated
I have an instruction manual on it. I can send it to you via AIM. But you need tech to do it that you have to pay for with alot of money so I can't do it.

The more I think on this "PD Battle Clan" thing, the better it sounds. This could really be epic and awesome. Hmm
Anyways, question for people who know the answer(duh): If I have wifi at my house, do I need to buy anything extra, or can I just tap into that?

If you have wifi at your house then you can use it. But you must make sure that the connection is nice and strong or you'll be labelled as a disconnector.
Besides, I'm compiling a a list of people in the battle clan-at least, those people that posted here and said that they had wifi. Hopefully this will be a success, because clans been popping up everywhere on nintendo forums, and it'll seriously suck if we miss out on this. Basically a clan works this way-
-The clan name is written before your wifi user title to show that you're in a clan. Eg PD: Mex for Pokedream clan: Mex. You know that someone's in a clan from his wifi user title.(If he has 2-3 alphabets of the clan before his name. :/)
-If new members want to join, the existing members obtain his friend code, and one member will battle him as a test. If he won or put up a good fight, then he's in. (This rule works for the clans that are either extremely picky or horribly strong)
-If you meet a person from another clan, do your very best to kick his ass. That is obvious.
-Battles with another clan can be organised. (Usual way, no need for elaboration.)
-Do your clan proud. (meh)
-Expect people from rival clans (esp serebii) to flame insanely on their forums.
That's basically the main ideas of a clan. Sorry if you feel like I've treated you like a bunch of idiots, this is mainly for people who've never been on wifi before.

And that was actually a pretty helpful post, considering I've never wifi'd before. I'm not sure when I'm gonna get diamond/pearl, though, by the way x_x. Actually I'm pretty sure I'll be elsewhere on its release date. Hmm.

not necesarily, hicky. you can go to places like bookstores like Borders or certain cafes and get free wifi. just look for cafes that have the sign "free wifi" or whatever and you can get access there. I bet you can find one in your area.

I've been hunting around for a clan to join after I decided to pre-order diamond. Think you could add me. I have wireless but i had it set on WPA and the DS only accepts opens - as in free public wifi or WEP. Guess I'll just have to change to play online. Not sure on the pokemon I will use yet but eh there is still like a week to decide.
