I went to my first funeral today. My uncle who I grew up with got into a car accident. Never really use a dead person live in a casket so my mind is in jambles right now.

    What.

And my condolences. It always sucks to lose someone you care about.

But it's always better to celebrate the good times than to regret the bad or lament the times lost.

Odd, I have gone to several funerals.

Great excuse not be be in school for 3 days. Really fun too because you get to hang with all your cousins and play multiplayer games. I easily had the second largest mario cart group at my Great Grandmother's funeral a few years back, good fun.

Went to a 17 year old's funeral who died in a drunken car crash about two years ago. I wasn't myself for about a month.

It's just a different experience and something hard to overcome. I had to hug his fiance as she just started sobbing. Makes you really think of everything. Especially since he died the night before Christmas.

Oh that's just awful. And it does make you think. When I hear of things like that and have to deal with death, I always think to myself if I or someone I am really close today, will I feel ok with how I left them or left me in this life. I have made it a point for some time to mend woes or at least attempt to.

Probably the only funeral that I really cared about was my Grandma, and I was too little to realize exactly what death was.

The death of 3 of my Great Grandmothers was fun considering I don't really know them. Well that's a lie, one I knew pretty well but I hated her.

Exactly my point. When it's someone you're actually close to, it tends to be a little more devastating.

I went to my great-grandma's funeral when I was about five and I had really vivid, strange dreams about it. I had a dream that we were in a strange, isolated place and she held my hand and suddenly she was taken up to the sky, some kind of weird symphony playing in the process. Funerals are difficult.

Mariruri, my condolences. I lost my grandma on Christmas, though I wasn't close to her, so I can imagine how much harder this is hitting you. *hugs* Time heals you, but it's the fact that it takes time that often makes it hard. Keep on keeping on.

Ripdo, come to nyrisis and my wedding. Sorry to hear bout your uncle, Kelsh. Nyrisis' grandmother just died as well. And there's been a lot of drama on the other side of her family so Christmas has been a little hard for her. I've been to several funerals, three in the last year and my grandmother on my dad's side is in terrible shape so it'll probably another before too long. I've been a little enured to death now but I'm still sure I'd lose it if one of the few people I have left that are REAlLY close bought it.

If you're that easily influenced, sure.

Sure, death sucks. But allowing yourself to continuously be influenced by someone's death in such a negative way is a waste of life.

    That's even worse.

And I get it, Qoorl. You invite Ripdo but not me?

I guess I'll just cancel the order I made for a giant hollow cake.
