do whatever you want, just don't say I don't know what the word 'empirical' means. such an accusation causes streams of tears at night.

In Japan, if a kid is more athletic than scholarly, they will take that kid out of a good scholarly school and put them in a school with lower teaching standard with more emphasis on sports. This is their response to "all of our kids pass school!" And kids have to take entrance exams for high school, and have to pay tuition because only 1st grades through jr. high is required. They take test after test, and go in classes meant for their skill level, not necessarily the standard of the school itself.

I had a couple friends in high school who had completely finished learning calculus, or close to it. They had take a calculus course equal to a third semester college calculus course their senior year.

The American school system works if you choose the right schools. You have to find the ones that are both average like mine was...

as much as you hate the indian education system, and i understand why, i dont think you can argue it doesnt do a better job than the american system. you always say how much you hate the system and as such you dont do as good as you could because it makes you apathetic, but you're about a million times more prepared to enter a lucrative/socially beneficial field of study(engineering, sciences, etc) than the vast majority of americans at your level.

I pursue engineering in India. And yes, it does make me apathetic.

Fun fact teen suicide in Japan is one of the highest in the world.

It's a silly question because no education system "works" and how one feels an education system should be is based on how they feel a workforce should be, i.e. do you want a bunch of math knowing scientists or artsy tartsy people ect. and then you base that as an argument of other nations' education systems that do or do not emphasis it.

The way I see it is at the end of the day what is the goal of education? To provide training (in whatever form) that will provides a background for a self sufficient future. I beleive that a school system built on tracking should be more heavily emphasized in American schools and be more focused on vocational education. Not every one should be a college boy/girl nor will there be a need for them in a realistic idea of the world. (Ripdo being a prime example)

Germany, Switzerland and Finland do a good job with this and quality of life reflects this.

Your an absolutely wonderful man, any girl that is yours is lucky and I know that from personal experience. ~KMT
