Education is more important than how you feel about the weather!

Also, I think I can't handle extreme temperatures either way. It's usually between 12 and 34 degrees celsius here. Not sure how I would handle the extreme cold or heat of 45 degrees >.>

To me, one of the most important decisions I made about my university was the location.

I really fail to see the difference between a state school and a ridiculously expensive private school; except for the elitism. Even if you get a job with a slightly higher salary than a guy who went to a lesser ranked school, I do believe the difference is made up through the tuition costs alone.

I think when my education is all said and done, my debt will be between 10,000 and 25,000 dollars. Which is very manageable. Though of course I could be wrong about it, but I am certain that there's no way I'd go beyond 40,000.

salary differential can be pretty huge just because of what school you go to. mewtwo is out of college for what, 2 years now? he makes 140k a year. i doubt that would be the case if he didnt graduate from berkeley.

im thinking of taking a physics minor as well. most of the prerequisites i can skate by since ive covered most of the topics in school. then ill probably take a high level quantum mechanics course and one in relativity/string theory. my major specific classes dont seem THAT DEMANDING so i think ill have the time. i know a guy who goes to georgia tech who told me that computer science is the 'easiest' of all the popular engineering majors. pichubro how hard is cs at your school?

Most my friends left me for private schools I'm so lonely

I think only 3 people from my high school are at this school with me. Everyone else is either from a couple different high schools from the state, California or International. Seriously... so many asians...

And mewtwo makes that much money because it's facebook, they could probably afford to literally burn half their profit. Every company is different, there are programmers that only make 40,000 in some companies while other companies pay closer to 80,000.

It really depends on how expendable you are, and your network.

As far as private verses state goes in terms of potential earnings, it all depends on what profession you are getting into. For example, if Rayne was studying education at UI he'd be wasting his money because the return of investment (ROI) just isn't there. For the most part, private schools are not what solely dictates what you make but what you actually study. In addition, it's not where you go its who you know. People that go to private schools either already have networks that matter or will find networks that do. My rich relatives aren't the "smartest" people I know, but they are rich now (they were shit poor when they were kids) because they met people when they went to Ivy leagues. Needless to say it's not so much where you go but what you do when you go places. Of course there are exceptions for both cases, people just get lucky or are just fucking insanely smart and they just so happened to have gone to private schools. Read this article if you are invested in this topic:

    http://www.aei.org/article/education...ion/ivy-chase/

And Justin I don't want to hear that you can't afford to go to the school you want to go to. BELEIVE ME, I COULD go to a 50,000+ school a year through Gov. loans, grants and private loans. I chose not to though because the ROI for my major is not worth it. And this goes for all of you too. You have the rest of you life to pay this debt off and to be honest you will most likely be able to do so by the time you are 30 if you are responsible with your money. No body with an adequate college degree should be "poor" if you manage your money properly and are responsible. If you have a dream and that dream leads you to an expensive school then DO NOT compromise. You only have a few chances in your life to "make" yourself, don't fuck up this one to save a few thousand dollars.

And Rayne, you are one big fucking pussy. But in all seriousness, because this is serious business, you will become acclimated to the weather. If Ashi can survive in NY when for her entire life she lived in Banana Land, then you can suck it up too. IT's not like you will be swimming in an outside pool all day in the dead of February. You'll be like every other lazy American sitting in a temperate controlled building sipping Starbucks shit.

And for all those who think going into a profession and being mindful of money is dumb, you are either hippy bitches or already rich so STFU, TITS OR GTFO.

Your an absolutely wonderful man, any girl that is yours is lucky and I know that from personal experience. ~KMT

i have no problem with being mindful of money. i will discourage people from taking dead end degrees. but when people pick a degree JUST BECAUSE it'll make them money then thats dumb. buckweat may take petrochem engineering and make a lot of bank but if he doesnt really give a shit about the subject and hes only in it for the cash then hes just inundating the job market which is unfair to those who are actually passionate about their fields and he will probably never become a 'good' petrochemical engineer because he's apathetic to it.

I doubt he doesn't have SOME passion for the that type of job. There are plenty of of other ones that pay that he COULD have said, but he chose that one. I mean, he could have been a gay porno star, they pay well.
