We need something like a like system

I know people like god will instantly rail against this for bein TOO FACEBOOKY but it would be a cool thing to have. I don't mean gay shit like reputation which is 'anonymous' and is meant to be an indicator of quality but is instead abused by people to give their butt buddies more green squares. I mean something that only shows up on posts that a user makes and not on a user's profile so that beneath a person's post if would be written 'x, y and z like this post'. Posting a 'haha' or a 'i enjoyed this post' after every post I like is tedious and lame and this would be preferable. Back on vglan we had a 'thanks' plugin that people used to 'thank' others for making good posts and it worked rather well.

another reason why I'm opposed to this: i left Facebook, and PD has become a better Facebook for me, a place I go to when I want to sit there idly on the internet, and I want to avoid it as much as possible. Thus, you should not do this in order to cater exclusively to me.
