Default I have no faith in Democracy anymore

The Average American is too dumb, uninformed, and generally apathetic to be trusted with a power of choosing the leaders of our country. I don't know what I'd like better but our country keeps electing retards

i have faith in democracy among an educated and self-aware populace.

    "What else?" said the secretary.

History has shown that the more you limit voting on a country, the worse it does.

It might depend on the type of democracy. America's democracy is different from other (namely, European) countries.

this is possibly true. i do think it is feasible under a level of democracy the america/most of europe has though, but that would take leftists to grow some balls and stop being dumb. so probably not going to happen.

Public education isn't the way to a more informed citizenry

Representative democracy is a terrible idea in a capitalist system

Well it was a short time frame so I thought maybe you got ninja'd. But our public education is really shitty and compulsory education in America's society today more apathetic about the world than anything

actually i dont think democracy would be a bad thing in a socialist country with a market based economy but the freer the market of a country gets the more pointless democracy becomes

America is obviously where I was talking about the entire way through this thread. And sure it might work elsewhere but compulsory state education doesn't work here

Either no capitalism or direct democracy. Representative democracy would be pretty decent in a socialist system, but it just goes nowhere in capitalism

direct democracy in a capitalist economy might be worse. im not even sure how it would work.

With direct democracy in capitalism, it may not be my preferred option, but shit would get done rather than progress being halted by politics and corruption
