these and many more have been piling up on my facebook newsfeed for the past few fucking MONTHS. fuck tumblr and 9gag and all those other shitty sites which brought internet culture to the mainstream and not only stripped it off its novelty but ruined everything about it that made it funny or entertaining. ugh.

and its not just that theyve taken the good things and shat all over them, which would be bad enough. its that theyve taken the bottom of the barrel, like fucking TROLLCOMICS, and abused it to oblivion.

I don't mind memes and rage faces if they are used sparingly. But they aren't.

- using a meme wrong
- using an old meme to seem 'cool' and 'in the know'
- using 'lol' as a real word
- "Thumbs up if you..."
- "Like this in two seconds if you..."
- "This is bob/bunny"
- Chain-mails in the form of comment spam
- Using derp outside of describing something silly
- "derpette"
- when a site like 9gag steals content and watermarks it

i've never really got annoyed by this stuff but last friday an indian guy in our class brought in a folder, in which was a piece of a4 paper, on which he had printed trollface, with the caption 'problem?'. he was talking in the class, our teacher corrected him, he goes 'sorry miss,' and then opens his folder and shows it to everyone sitting next to him with the biggest expectant smile ever, like he's the wittiest guy in the world

The trollface just loses all value if it's literally everywhere. It was meant to be a true "u mad?" face for when you got someone good. Not just for any old "oh, I might have pissed you off a bit, have a troll face" kind of thing.
