    Default People who ride scooters with only a helmet.

    There are plenty of squids riding motorcycles without any gear but those people are usually the butt of the jokes of the riding community. Scooters seem conspicuously absent from this criticism though. Just because your scoot only goes 35mph doesn't mean the guy that hits you is. It also doesn't mean you're not going to get seriously fucked up going from 35-0 on the pavement using your ass for brakes. Full gear isn't really needed, just a jacket and gloves would work, but these people wear nothing to protect them most of the time. And then they go out on 55mph roads and traffic around them has a heart attack because they're barely visible and going 20mph slower than everyone else.

    I think people riding a motorcycle wearing shorts and flip-flops are worse. I cringe just by looking at them.

    scooters are rare out here, but I agree that they should either fully cover themselves with protective gear or not at all.
