Charmander kicked ass.
I think Charmander because when it's a Charizard, it gains the flying type which means Blazikin is weak to Charizard because it's fire and fighting. Infernape and Emboar are also fire and fighting which is weak to Charizard. Basically it's a tie between Cyndaquil and Charmander since Typhlosion does not gain any types. It's pure fire.
cyndaquil > torchic > charmander > chimchar > whatever the gay 5th gen starter is
When it comes to when you just get the Pokemon, Torchic may be better.
Attack: Charmander-52, Cyndaquil-52, Torchic-60, Chimchar-58, Tepig-63
Defense: Charmander-43, Cyndaquil-43, Torchic, 40, Chimchar-44, Tepig-45
Special Attack: Charmander-60, Cyndaquil-60, Torchic-70, Chimchar-58, Tepig-45
Special Defense: Charmander-50, Cyndaquil-50, Torchic-50, Chimchar-44, Tepig-45
Speed: Charmander-65, Cyndaquil, 65, Torchic-45, Chimchar-61, Tepig-45
Base Stat Total: Charmander-309, Cyndaquil-309, Torchic-310, Chimchar-309, Tepig-308
But all of them are so close it really just depends on what you like.

Cyndaquil is a pretty awesome Pokemon. When it becomes Typhlosion it becomes an absolute tank.
