for a sitcom community is unusually intelligent. im quite surprised with the amount of thought and effort they put into some of the more 'satirical' episodes.

there are some throwaway episodes and some obviously blatant examples of just using the common sitcom tropes despite the presence of abed. like the whole jeff/britta complex "maybe they like each other" thing, but they actually completely abandoned that arc

Last time I checked, someone had uploaded all the episodes of Bebop to Youtube, but I would have to check again.

Unfortunately, while FLCL is on Youtube, it's the Japanese version with subs, and I prefer the English track.

yeah im glad they never gave a lot of screen time for the sexual tension between the characters save a few episodes, and apart from the first season finale it was always tolerable because it was never taken too seriously.

how did they respond to the season 1 finale? they unpersoned professor slater, and abandoned jeff/britta as a couple and replaced it with jeff/annie. clever writers

chang was at his best as the teacher. he had some good moments as the security guard though.

    "What else?" said the secretary.

I would argue an anime would be defined as being made by asians.

Cowboy Bebop is almost required watching. I've got a couple of others that I really like but they're situational, not everyone is gonna like em.

Technically, "anime" is the japanese word for animation, which to them just means it's an art style, as opposed to live-action or CGI, etc. They like to shorten loan words.

anime is a media genre distinguished by its art style and treatment of more 'mature' subject matter in an animated medium

its funny how many things in avatar are literally taken from flcl and cowboy bebop, and a few from trigun. "if we met in another life, do you think we would be friends?", and those old ceremonial women in the fire nation bear such a resemblance to the elders of the red dragons.
