Default Do you love or hate long open routes

I have always loved them, the immense oceans of Hoenn are lovely, you can never fully explore the area, I could of played the game for years and still manage to find new items and unbeaten trainers in the waves. But this is interestingly what other people hate about Hoenn.

Also as far as land routes go, the Hoenn super tall grass route was fun, but even better what the first gen route between Lavender Town and Fushia City, which basically was the entire eastern coast of Kanto, I loved that route to death.

What is your opinion of such areas?

Depends on the situation. If I'm trying to get somewhere for the first time (or pre fly) it tends to frustrate me. But if I'm trying to train a weaker pokemon to evolution, or train to loyalty, then I love longer routes with alot of hidden trainers that I didn't fight earlier. I also tend to try to avoid trainers on these routes the first time through so I can get where I'm going faster, and so I can come back and use them to train later.

I prefer cities and places with interesting characters to talk to.
