Lol, im just going to get my own internet service then. Hopefully comcast provides service w/e i go. And if they don't allow other ISPs in their dorms well, theres 2 options, FUCK YOU AND YOUR DORMS, or buying a mobile ISP for like an extra 30$ a month.

You could get one of those fancy USB sticks that connects via satellite, but those cost a shitload when you use them. Same thing with tethering from your phone.

My school forces you to download monitoring software. It slows down my computer and I hate it because sometimes it just glitches out and I lose internet connection. It's the only thing I don't like about my school's internet service. -_-
However, they don't care about porn (mainly because they would rather allow people to easily access it than for people to force their way through anyway). They really only care about viruses and uploading/downloading bandwidth, so torrents are a no-go. Direct downloading seems fine though.
It's pretty much "buy your own router or go without internet" at my school. The only rule is "If you're looking into getting a government job, don't go on 4chan or Wikileaks because we're obligated to give the government your browsing history."
