i would think it's more of a traditional thing these days. gun training is only going to be so effective against fighter pilots and bombs. plus has there ever really been a reason to invade switzerland?

Yeah. They've been that way for a while though, I remember reading some quote from some German general that that was one of the main reasons they didn't go through Switzerland. It wa s in a book I read, The 7 Myths of Gun Control. I'll see if I can dig it up.

The swiss were actually invaded a lot in the middle ages and in the Roman empire days because Switzerland actually has a lot of important routes through the mountains from the Germanic Plain to the Italian Peninsula

also it was formally invaded in world war 2

second point is fine, but in the middle ages they didn't have the government issued guns in the first place. which is one of the reason's he highlighted as to why they hadn't been invaded. also by who since i don't know anything about the world wars?

I mean, you ARE right to a degree but Germany could have taken them easily if it weren't for the mountains, granted mountains with loads of hell fire, but none the less mountains.

"Under General Henri Guisan, a massive mobilization of militia forces was ordered. The Swiss military strategy was changed from one of static defence at the borders, to a strategy of organized long-term attrition and withdrawal to strong, well-stockpiled positions high in the Alps known as the National Redoubt. This controversial strategy was essentially one of deterrence. The idea was to cause huge losses to German forces and render the cost of invading too high. During an invasion, the Swiss Army would cede control of the economic heartland and population centres, but retain control of crucial rail links and passes in the National Redoubt."

    its regarded as common knoledge

Kirby just read more, and when you do, read the paragraphs after you think you have a stellar quote to prove your point just to make sure your point isn't completely wrong. It kind of helps.

idk if it's even possible to have a "best" country in the world, such a term is so generalized the answer is really subjective. I can't answer this question, my brain can't think of a best country. If I had one to choose I'd pick Canada, still, since it has the wide open spaces and lovely landscape I enjoy very much, but that's just a personal thing.

Me putting " " implies the answer obviously being subjective.
