I would probably pick anything in Latin. I am horribly annoying when it comes down to intelligence, and would probably commend anyone who knows the meanings said names. Except for people who clearly looked them up on Google.
Vampyre is not in any way the British way of spelling Vampire. It was probably Olde Englishe spelling at some point, or some author made it up to make their novel seem like not just another book on the Vampire bandwagon.
