Sushi is extremely popular in the US, so I wouldn't really say that it's a major difference. Plus American fast food chains are everywhere.
Seaweed isn't half bad
Why is the seaweed the put off? It's just ocean salad.
The main difference is that Japan doesn't bum every shitty anime with a poor plot and UGGUUUU~ bug eyed dickweeds in it whereas America does.
Anime as it is now was heavily inspired by Disney's wide eyed cartoons in the 30s Kirby. So i guess anime is American?
Seriously, Japan asked Disney for help when it came to making cartoons in color.
