Your lucky, my last name isn't even real. My motherfucking blind ass grandfather made it up. He took his last name, and screwed around with it until it was easy to spell and didn't sound German.

He wasn't trying to hide the fact that we was German, he just didn't want to explain to everyone why a Jamaican had a German name.

Lots of people who immigrated to the US had to 'Americanize' their names if they were hard to pronounce or spell. It was a way to assimilate people easier.

You can always change it.

No I kinda like being one of the literal dozen people in the united states with the name. Although Google is telling me their is 19 people, they could either be relatives of my Greatgrandfathers lost brother, or some other people that happened to choose to spell the name the same.

Its very interesting for people that have filled names for years, they always give my name a funny look and sometimes even remark that they have never seen such a name.

Either that or they think I am related to Holden Caulfield, the fictional character, which Im not because caulfield is an English name and completely unrelated.
