yeah 34 is nothing
it's already around 0 (45) here and im dealing with it fine with no winter wear save a couple of light hoodies
windchill is much more difficult to bear than the actual temperature though
i remember a few days after sandy it was windy as fuck and even a ten minute walk to the math building proved very difficult

Spent most of my life in a desert. Don't have much that'll keep me warm. Really need to go and buy some jackets.
I had the same deal when I moved to a colder climate. I couldn't even find any jackets to buy back home.
