Default I am interested in lucid dreaming

I have watched a few guides and I know not to jump into it, I plan I making a dream journal first for a few weeks while making sure I sure of my dream detector process.

Problem is I can't really think of a good thing to detect dreams. For example many guides suggest looking around to see if shit is screwed up. The thing is I have the crappiest eyesight and I am prone to real life disillusions. So if I looked at a clock and it had crazy symbols on it or if I was suddenly surrounded by glass ants, I could very well still be awake and seeing things wrong and/or having a delusion. Some guides even suggest to dream of flying, but I have NEVER drempt of flying, ever.

This actually makes me wonder what is real and what isn't, if real life crazy shit is completely normal to my psychology.

What should someone like me do?

Try to hurt yourself, ram into a wall or punch yourself in the face.

    no pain, you're game

I can't exactly punch myself as a ritual every day to realize I am awake.

wear a digital watch and check whether youre in a dream regularly throughout your day. you wont be able to read the time in a dream.

I have a hard time reading digital watches in real life. I one time woke up at 3 in the morning, read my clock at 6, got dressed, ate breakfast, and stood outside for about 10 minutes before I realized that at 6:30 the sun should be up.

    yeah, thats a no
