Hypocritical? No. Actually it's quite indicative of being a conservative/capitalist. I take advantage of the best opportunity to not spend money on things I need to buy the things I want. If that means I screw over the electric company then so be it but that most certainly does not make me a hypocrite, just an opportunist, i.e. a capitalist i.e. not a filthy liberal but a conservative. As Aristotle wrote, and I paraphrase, it's not so much what you did or what the result was, but rather, what your reasoned intent initially was.
