Has anyone seen this on the History Channel yet? Actually heard good things about it. Downloading now so we'll see.

i watched a couple minutes and it seemed annoying, go back between regular documentary narrative style and acting shit out.

Caught up. I mean, it really isn't a History Channel show but rather a retelling of the Bible. On those grounds I don't really like how they did it. In the viewpoint of it just being a Biblical narrative though I like it to a degree. I have seen "better" renditions of the Old Testament and New Testament in various other forms that I feel shadow this series, but we all have our preferences. The retelling of Samson was one of the best I've seen though and hands down the fighting scenes are exceptional. They really did make the angels true to their awesome power. Other than that it is mediocre. I will watch it all the way through just because "everyone" is talking about it and I feel it is my obligation to watch it because of who I am or for no other reason that this is one of the biggest hits the History Channel has had in a long while. Would I recommend it? No. But, if you are interested in a better telling of the Biblical stories up to the story of Joshua I would recommend the following titles:

In order as told in the Bible-

In the Beginning (Great narrative and well casted)

*Now, I recommend watching until the story of Joseph and watching that story with the movie below because I feel it does a better job telling the story plus shows the lives of the brothers after they sell Joseph.*
