It really is strange how drawn I still am to Japan. I really want to go back there. You would think it was just some fantasy that once realized I would be over it but in reality it seems to be more and more a heartfelt pining that has never gone away. Of all places why there and why at all?

I feel the same way. I was only there for two weeks yet I feel drawn to it. :<

What would you like? A comedy, drama, action? I watched a couple new anime shows today; maybe I can recommended you one.

    Attack on Titan maybe?

It's a serious show, but I don't know if it's best for breaking out of depression. In the first episode the main character watches his mom get eaten...

Nah ah, no he didn't! hahaha That's HILARIOUS. I told you his name was Ben. I wonder what that guy is up to nowadays. I remember once he was at a panel at AnimeNext talking about how he ate his wife out for literally hours and was so exhausted he paced out. Seriously, I couldn't make that shit up, it was one funny event. Fun fact, a week later you dumped. : D haha : P

Yeah, I'm not watching some supernatural bullshit mecha barf i.e. 95% of all new anime. Give me something that isn't rehashed bullshit like that. Oh and not that typical "school girl/boy" blah blah blah anime. I want so good shit.

I think Baccano! is better than Durarara!! but it depends if you like 1930s America I guess. The episodes don't follow chronological order so you have to watch about 5 episodes in to see if you like it.

Everything else I want to recommend you have already watched like Eden of the East.

I WOULD recommend Mushishi but it's very slow on purpose. No romance or anything, but slice of life of a guy traveling Japan slowness. Supernatural things occur, but it's basically him just finding a new village and interacting with the people there. It's one of my favorites, but it's not something everyone enjoys. It's also the only anime I know of that you can literally watch the episodes in any order.
Just basically 26 episodes of this pretty much:

It's easier to recommended comedies :/

On Netflix, it's something you would have watched and recommended to me, but in this case I got there first. The main character reminds me of Ryota haha.
