    Default Rate My Team [OU]

    Changes in RED

    Ninjask @ Mental Herb
    Trait: Speed Boost
    EVs: 248 HP / 236 Def / 24 Spd
    Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Protect
    - Substitute
    - Toxic
    - Baton Pass

    Espeon @ Chesto Berry
    Trait: Magic Bounce
    EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SDef
    Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
    - Hidden Power [Fighting]
    - Stored Power
    - Rest
    - Baton Pass

    Venomoth @ Leftovers
    Trait: Shield Dust
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
    Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
    - Disable
    - Quiver Dance
    - Roost
    - Baton Pass

    Vaporeon @ Leftovers
    Trait: Water Absorb
    EVs: 244 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
    Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Acid Armor
    - Substitute
    - Surf
    - Baton Pass

    Mr. Mime @ Leftovers
    Trait: Soundproof
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
    Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
    - Encore
    - Substitute
    - Calm Mind
    - Baton Pass

    Scizor @ Leftovers
    Trait: Light Metal
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
    Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
    - Roost
    - Iron Defense
    - Substitute
    - Baton Pass

The previous team was weak to choice'd STAB electric attacks. I'm running Venomoth and Shield Dust prevents Thunder's paralysis, and Disable forces the choice'd user to switch. After that, I can Quiver Dance or heal with Roost. Since I have Quiver Dance > Bug Buzz, I replaced Calm Mind on Espeon with Hidden Power Fighting. This allows me to kill Dark Pokemon and use Venomoth as my other special wall. Now, Vaporeon can run more physically defensive. Mr. Mime is running Encore as a way to lock opponents into certain moves and then set up.

Hmm, I haven't played in months, but I have a few obvious suggestions.

I think you should find a way to put Espeon on this team, it is the reason baton pass is to deadly this days, as it can bounce back whirlwind. Perhaps over Mr. Mime? I am not sure how important blocking Politoed's perish song is, its kind of uncommon but Politoed is everywhere.

Electrivire seems out of place, there are far more effective pokemon for the job, there is a reason Electrivire is rarely used, simply put it lacks the offenses to actually sweep, all it does it maybe wall break at best, on this team you need sweepers not wall breakers. At the least, get a better mixed sweeper, like Hydregion, Landorus, or Infernape.

Also, I am not sure now good Forretress is here honestly, if it works great, but I would be tempted to switch it with another booster or sweeper.

Also, have you considered using Magnezone? I well played Skarmory really messed up your whole strategy. I highly suggest Espeon or Magnezone on this team actually (not both).

    Small suggestions:
-Stealth rock > toxic spikes, rocks are much more important to get up, a lot of pokemon these days aren't even effected by poison
-Ninjacks's set is odd, I would give it swords dance over toxic any day
-Dragon Claw > Extreme speed? I am unsure about this one, but since so much of your team rides on a dragonite sweep, it might not be the best idea to lock it into outrage for stab.
-Cross chop on Electrivire; currently Tyranitar, Chansey and Blissey wall your Electrivire all day
-Scald on Vaporeon, burns are godly

thats all I have, I am not that great at rating baton pass, but these suggestions should help a bit

    Thank-you for the rate.
Mr. Mime, I feel, is a need for the team. Without him, I could lose a lot of matches just for not having him.
I'd do Espeon > Magnezone. That would also mean 2 Pokémon are weak against Dark-type, though. Hmmm...

I will replace Toxic with SD.
Forretress can learn Stealth Rocks by breeding, should I do that or replace Forretress completely?
What should I replace for C-Chop?
Scald's ability to burn seems the most promising, aside from Surf, as its ability to burn hinders physical attackers as well as providing decent damage. The loss of damage from Scald could cause Vaporeon to lose its ability to 1HKO many frail sweepers.

Ah this is an in game team. In which case don't worry much about stuff, most people suck on wifi :V.

If you want a replacement, perhaps baton pass scizor or gliscor?

For cross chop, I would cosider ditching Earthquake. Earthquake is really only good against Heatran, which still is hurt fine by stab thunderbolt after a few calm mind boosts. Flamethrower is a must for Ferrothorn, and Ice Punch for dragons.

Its really up to you for scald, I suggest you play around with it, I am unaware of any loss of KOs, you could do some calcs about it, but honestly, I would just test it and see whats better.

How'd you know it was an in-game team lol?
But yeah, I just plan on battling my friends that live near me (well, 25min drive lol).
Not sure if I should get rid of Electivire or Dragonite for Espeon...

Not being able to get Forry stealth rock tipped me off.

Keep Dragonite, you need that, its your bread and butter.

I was actually thinking Magnezone might be a better replacement for Electrivire, being the same type and all, but Espeon can work to, (or in Forry or Mr. Mimes place, whatever)

your only attack moves are hp-fighting and surf...

I think you need to go back to having real attackers, currently all you have is a team that passes around defense boosts

Ok let me try to pin this down.

It looks like you want to have a special baton pass team. So you want at the very least:

    -Vaporen
-Mr. Mime and / or Espeon
    -Venomoth

-and you like ninjask for speed

so in the lasst 1-2 slots you need a special attacker, perhaps Latios, Gengar, or Heatran?

    I'll never use legendaries :p
But uh, hmmmm, what's a really good attacker to pass all those stats to? My Dragonite that I had? Idk about Gengar, he's my 2nd favorite Pokémon, but I use him too much ha.

    Volcarona?

Screw it, let's do Gengar then.
What's a good moveset for Gengar with a Baton Pass team?

    Leftovers
    252 SpA / 2522 Spe
    Timid
    -Shadow Ball
-HP-fighting (you can't risk a focus blast miss on tyranitar)
    -Disable / Thunderbolt
    -Substitute / Energy Ball

I just bullshitted this moveset, but it seems solid. You choose between sub-disable and thunderbolt and energy ball.

I think Volc is the standard special baton pass pokemon if I am not mistaken though... I don't know why there are better pokemon.

naw, I run stall, your team would get an insta win, (stall teams tend to run on the premise of overall not seeing Mr. Mime / Espeon baton pass, as they are uncommon), also I haven't played in months

I would be happy to play RBY though

Naw, but yeah, I could do RBY. Ummm, do we use 1st gen moves only as well?
    & I haven't battled in like....ages.
& do I choose "[Gen 1] OU (beta)?"
