    Default I went too weird

One of my conclusions after reading this forum is that I became a lot stranger than everyone else, in a slightly divergent direction. Perhaps in a quintessentially English way. But I often find I have nothing to contribute to the stuff we talk about here, unless it's either literature or Pokémon (which I suppose is at least 20% of threads). Or maybe I just became way more pretentious than everyone else.

I'm going with the last part, acshuly.

It's funny when you consider what the relationships here were like, say, 4 years ago, and how much they've changed. Or how much we've all changed. This forum is actually the only direct glimpse I have in terms of the internet (I deleted my Facebook/never posted that frequently on other message boards) of how I developed, and I expect the same can be said for God.

I think your need to feel unique makes you act much more different than you actually are

You mean, as a general principle for everyone, or is this particular to me?

I think cultural differences/knowing each other for a long time but never all meeting in real has created a strange atmosphere on this message board. Not especially negative, just odd.

I think we all write the same way we talk, but because we aren't delivering any body language/context with that our perceptions of each other differs from how we are are irl.

i think that we genuinely speak the same as we post. and i've often posted before that without body language, we can't express ourselves properly, that is why we have smileys and such; yet, that isn't enough.

I don't know about going too weird but I've certainly felt very dissociated from everything around me in the last few months. I've stopped socialising with friends a lot and now my life pretty much consists of the gym, writing poetry and stories, reading and composing music. Was reading some Dostoyevsky earlier and stumbled upon a few paragraphs that exactly described what my life has become. Sort of an unnerving experience but at the same time pretty cool. I've also been going through an intense infatuation with Joy Division and spent like forty euro on a recently published book featuring Ian Curtis' lyrics and handwritten notes. Justified it to myself by rationalising that it's part of my poetic education but still. I may be losing it completely. Radiohead's Kid A has been getting spun a lot as well.

Socialising is the only thing you should do.
