History is important and needs to be taught and to be remembered. Many different races and most religions have faced gruesome persecution and bigotry. It's not THAT we are teaching our children, it's the WAY we are teaching them. It's not giving them a since of pride in what they, as a people, have accomplished, it's hurting our children and making them reprehensible. Why would you continue to dwell on torment and pain instead of celebrating your accomplishments? And why should any one race get preferential acknowledgement, while the history of others, equally as abused and accomplished, be ignored?
