Give me all the criticism you can muster. I can take it. (I posted this on Reddit and I got mercilessly mocked by everybody. I am wiser because of that.)
I tend to find that my way of writing journalism is overly pretentious, annoying and only in parts 'funny'. It doesn't help that Nouse accept whatever pretentious, verbose crap that I shit out without giving me any genuine critique, as quite a pretentious, verbose publication.
is this post modern fanfiction of james joyce writing a clickbait article for hire
Was this intended to be comedic?
While your wordage isn't bad, the while thing seems like rather juvenile satire. I will give you props to name dropping OkCupid. Their partly responsible for my second and still superior marriage.
They're rather. You do bring up an important face of online dating however. While I don't neccesarily condone making yourself this entirely anonymous mold able thing, and important part to successful online dating and even real life in a way, is too make your profile unique. If its the same tired statistics as the next guy you're gonna lose out every time if the next guy has a six pack and most of his teeth. Of you're obviously unique then you'll end up getting checke out and possibly spoken too by more people than the next guy since he has to contend with the Other next guy who has six pack abs, all his teeth and great hair.
I viewed it satirically. nothing serious only because the worded resembled as such. it seemed over the top, but at the same time... I don't know...
I want to say that it's lacking, but I'm not even sure myself what it's lacking. Maybe it doesn't have any authenticity to it. it feels really cold. maybe...?

This article is very silly, but not particularly funny.
i was expecting two wildly different okcupid profiles to be juxtaposed next to each other, providing a humorous yet insightful tale of meeting women online. i dont think i got any of that.
Haha I'm on okcupid and it's pretty amusing.
Thanks for your feedback, it was helpful. Particularly Leo's. I really do think this article is "cold" and if I'm going to write something it should be sincere and not just pointlessly facetious.
Sincerity is the best thing to cultivate in anything.
