I am christian but somethings just sound rediculous about Christiany.
Buddhism is chilled out is why.
Christianity also labels buddhism a CULT which speaks volumes on their tolerance.
christianity labels buddhism as a cult? does it say that in the bible or something
well apparently mormons are a cult in fundamentalist christians' eyes, even though mormonism is an offshoot of christianity.
I should make a rant about naturalism at some point.
I don't think the bible is all that bad; it teaches good morals like being kind, but it's really the church that ruins it for me. they completely twist the bible to suit their own needs. I really hate how the roman catholic church really seems to do nothing but bitch about gay marriage and abortion.
church is what puts me out too. it's there to praise god and teach you about god. now all church has done is thrown away the bible, yet claim it's their backbone. if church used the bible/referred to the bible 50% more and sang fake praise songs 50% less, things would be a whole lot different, for the better i think. as for catholics, things seem hopeless. its almost not even the same as 'christianity' anymore. everything is just so fake nowdays that it kinda scares me.
Most of the negative aspects of Christianity come from the Old Testament, so technically they're not actually twisting the bible at all. But by promoting such exclusion goes against the basic principals of the supposed creator of the religion; which isn't anything new and has been happening since shortly after its inception.
That's the tragedy of it though. It upsets me that this cycle of ignorance in the name of a God continues to this day. I would have thought Christianity would have been wiser maybe thinking "But God is LOVING, why do we need to be so exclusive?"
They fail to question themselves, and by failing to do so, they harm the world around them by preaching ignorance and bleeding hypocrisy.
but haven't we progressed far enough as a society to be able to free ourselves of insensitive restraints such as those imposed by the bible? Supposedly Christians are supposed to love everyone, but as Mex pointed out, they're incredibly exclusive. Only those within their own faith seem to be saved, and gays are exempt.
But of course, why focus on just Christianity? Islam does this as well, and I'm sure Judaism does to a certain extent as well. Hinduism has the caste system. I'm sure there are other religions out there who practice these prejudicial concepts, but religion isn't exactly my forte.
Religion can be pretty awesome at times, but only when taken with an open mind. It's the closed minded religious nuts that ruin the entire aspect of it.
shall i add more?
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say I'm
a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
yes i shall lol.
what the fuck was the point of that cl you fucking moron

Here I am with my empire
I’ll bring you to your knees
Ebb and flow with my desire
Cause its all that you’ve been taught to be
The bottom sounds like store-bought naturalist pseudo-intellectualism.
I hope its meant to vocalize the feeling among outspoken critics and the confines of society instead.

Apparently not, the reason Christianity is the way it is in America is because of the brand that was brought here first.
I'm well aware, even so called "non-religion" like atheism tends to have rabid close-minded followers, this behavior is in no way exclusive to religion.
Religion shouldn't be on a societal level at all as far as I'm concerned.

I want to meet God so I can fly.
