he often carried growlithe or put him in his bike basket. however, in battle growlithe was quite fierce. he made friends with a boy named harrison who traveled for badges as well with aipom, his main pokemon (which also disliked pokeballs). a life threating moment for everyone was when the team began to travel to cianwood city by their water types (staryu and feraligatr) when they were attacked by a group of tentacool. staryu and feraligatr fought bravely and helped them get to the pokemon center in time to save a waterlogged growlithe and aipom.
