At least IPB don't lock down there forums at random. And I've used it for ages, I know people who've used it for ages, and it bloody well works without freakin' glitches. Oh, and this place sometimes glitches links.

Hello. The Editor has been offline because this forum has been on lockdown until 17:43 GMT. If the admins were running this forum on IPB, this problem would not have occurred. We apologise... Wait, sorry, that's a mistake. We don't apologise for that which is not our fault. Those who are responsible for this should apologise. Except they won't, because they cannot be bothered to fix a server people pay for, even when IPB have a server that not only works but is free as well.
Anyway, aside from the facts presented above, here is a plan of action. Presumably there is some kind of contract relating to payment for usage of this space or something. So, we either cancel the contract or wait for it to expire. Then we move onto IPB. The people will be able to post when they want, and the admins get a free ride. Any questions?

It's an amaturish format for people who want to make forums about their Dragonball Z RP or something. vB is more secure, has more options and customization, is more professional, and looks better.
Hmm... The entirity of the Incinerators' Forums was run on IPB. Pretty damn secure, had more than enough options, certainly was not amaturish (seeing as it ran more than here and looked nicer), and didn't lock down. When was the last time you looked at an IPB forum?

You don't pay yearly, you buy the forum at the beginning and have it until you want to shut it down, for starters. Second, using your logic, you're saying that because of a two to three day stretch of downtimes, a server is instantly dodgy? Compared to shit forums who weren't designed well at all and are used for n00bs who want to have their own ass-ish version of PE2K, PC, PD, or Serebii?
The quality of the programmer does not reflect on the quality of the server. I'm rubbish, therefore my forums suck. thekolt was great, and so was IC.
Nocturne, how many times does a person have to say "IPB is FREE" before you actually notice? It would cost nothing to set up an IPB forum. In fact, you could do a test version on IPB and see for yourselves (cue lots of "I can't be bothered" type posts).
