Is anything we do relevant?
I'm bored so I'm going to pose this question, is anything we do ever truly relevant?
-
-
To anything. What's the point of anything when it passes away with the age it's from?
-
Because it will start the creation of new ideas for a new age. If the wheel wasn't invented, we wouldn't have most of our vehicles today.
-
Yes, but when we no longer need wheels their creation will be irrelevant.
-
But wheels gave birth to the concept of 'transport' through vehicles, even if we invent a hovering spaceship, its creation stemmed from wheels because it would have gone like this:
Box with wheels->Box with wings and wheels->Aeroplane with wheels->Spaceship without wheels.
Even if it becomes obsolute, it is still the root of the idea.
-
When a tree dies it's roots die with it. If a time comes when we no longer need vehicles for transportation wheels and vehicles become irrelevant.
-
But without the wheel we wouldn't have been able to progess so far. If you weren't able to progress, there was no way of building cutting edge technology. So the wheel led to other creations. Without it, those subsiquent creations would never have been created.
-
Okay, but back to the subject, if you did something important it would pass away when this age passes, or at the very least they would no longer remember you, me, our language, or anything else like that.
-
Th wheel was an example. This is the same.
Everything originates from something older. Hence, that older thing still has importance as it is a step towards new creations.
-
But once the older thing and it's advancements are forgotten it's no longer relevant.
-
OK, IF WE NO LONGER NEED WHEELS IN THE FUTURE, THAT DOESNT MEAN WE DIDNT NEED THEM FOR 5000 YEARS. THEREFORE THEY WERE RELEVANT.
-
THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION IS YES
-
What's with all the caps, are you upset? Relevance is something being important forever, if it reaches a point when it is no longer important then it was never truly relevant.
-
Butterfly effect man. Everything is relevant and therefore nothing is truly relevant. Yet if nothing is relevant, why does such a word even exist? Because to the individual certain things will appear more relevant than others.
The answer you seek is fluid. The more you persue it, the more it shall elude you. Relish in the dualties of nature and it shall present itself.
-
Once explaned to me clearly I can understand anything. But I like to hear other people's points of view. You have done something I've been waiting for. You've given an answer I can't argue against. But the last part sounds like something you'd hear from an old man up on a mountain.

This is the stupidest paradox I've ever heard. My posts above were correct.
-
I've gotten into those kind of ruts of "everything is pointless" before, but they never accomplish anything. Ruminating over it gets you nowhere and makes you feel worse in the long run.

Then i guess you dont hate me very much considering im not a retard.
Ill answer your dumb question now, EVERYTHING IS RELEVANT, the things we did in the past have made the future better, even mistakes that we make can help better the future. Everything is relevant becuase without any of the events that happened in the past would make the future non existant, such as your example cars and such, without wheels and transportation we could not further our knowledge on the subject which means we couldnt get that future with advanced transportation.
Conclusion: Everything happens for a reason

Societal relevance doesn't really matter. If one lives their life trying to catch the publics eye they'll never be fulfilled.

I am missing the point guru squid
