Water attacks are pretty useless.They can't even give status effects.
ACTUALLY water is effective against many types and while they dont give status effects(well your wrong actually water pulse confuses so :p ) they mostly make up for it in great power and pp
Confusion is not a status effect.
It is actually in the pokemon schools in most games it comes up on the board as a status effect and its quite usefull(Swagger kicks A$$) although burn is incredibly anoying if your pokemon is inflicted with because it takes of a fair chunk of hp...
And that is why fire rocks.

that kyogre owner must have been absolutly retarded and tried to use sheer cold on you while you pounded away with thunderbolts (ninetales can learn thunder bolt from a tm right?)
