Welcome to my newest RPG, Pokemon Adventures I: Kanto!
I will be VERY strict about the sign-ups, so you won't be getting away with, "I'll post my rp sample later" or, "You know how I rp, I don't need one." or short descriptions and what not. Now there will ONLY BE THREE TRAINERS IN THIS RPG!!! I will not bend the rules, only three. I may allow small guest trainers appear later on but only for a short while. Okay? Okay. Now, this may seem corny, and non-original, but the three trainers include, two males and a female. One male is the grandson of Oak, the other is a new discovery, the other is just a new discovery as well. By new discovery I mean Oak has found you and chosen you to be a Pokedex holder. In your opening post you must write your character out on a normal day, and then you meet prof. Oak. When you do, write an event that happens that causes him to believe you are a good choice to be a Pokedex holder. The three trainers are to travel alone, no second person, or anything like that. The three may meet up, or maybe only two. The two males will meet up more frequently than the female, but the three will meet up together in important events.

Kanto, the center region of Japan, inhabited by creatures known as Pokemon. Pokemon are creatures that may be used for battle, pets, or just for research as some scientists do. Such as Kanto's leading Pokemon Researcher, Professor Oak. He is an elderly man, who, in his younger days, was a serious Pokemon Trainer, and won the Pokemon League championship. These days he researches Pokemon and is teaching his grandson about Pokemon, and Pokemon Training.
Professor Oak: Hello there young, aspiring Pokemon Trainers. Pallet Town, the town where you three, and me reside in. Pallet Town is a humble town where many of the greatest Pokemon Trainers have come from. What are Pokemon you ask? Well then, here are the basics.
Pokemon: Pokemon are wonderful creatueres that reside in our world, many have different types, or attributes that create weaknesses or the complete opposite, one can have the upper-hand over another. Pokémon types are special attributes based partly on, and expanded from, the classical elements, which determine the strengths and weaknesses of different Pokémon species. They lay the foundation of a complex yet mostly logical rock, paper, scissors-system that applies to every Pokémon and their respective moves. Some advantages and disadvantages are based on common sense (e.g. Fire-type Pokémon being weak to Water-type attacks), while others are not as obvious (e.g. Bug-type attacks being strong against Psychic-type Pokémon)
Some pokemon, even change shape. Even though it takes regular creatures centureies to evolve it takes Pokemon only a few weeks, maybe days, to evolve into a completely different form. Every Pokémon belongs to one of four evolutionary stages – Baby, Basic, Stage 1, and Stage 2, though no evolutionary line includes more than three stages. Some, however, come close and have multiple pokemon that are evolution available.
Pokeball: Also reffered to some as the Monster Ball, some being me and some trainers, are special devices that no matter how big the pokemon it will shrink it down and capture it inside. Inside, the Poké Ball features many of what appear to be mirror panels. The inside of a Poké Ball is supposedly designed to make the Pokémon feel as comfortable as possible while inside it. THe Pokeball features a tansparent red top which allows the trainer to see the Pokemon inside it, while having a solid white bottom.
In the Pokémon world, scientists have been using various, highly developed techniques of converting mass into energy and back for years. The Poké Ball is a quintessential example of this technique. When a Poké Ball is thrown at a Pokémon and comes into contact with it, the ball cracks open, both sides seperating. When the pokeball comes into contact with a Pokemon a cloud of highly concetrated smoke appears which seems to be the cause of the Pokemon shrinkage, and sucks it inside, closing automatically in the process. The Pokémon will likely struggle, trying to break free. If the Pokémon has been sufficiently weakened in battle and/or the Poké Ball model is sufficiently strong, the Pokémon is captured and used by the trainer. If the pokeball fails to capture the desired Pokemon, the pokeball well then break and will be unalbe to be of use.
Pokemon Trainer: One of the two most improtant things in our world of Pokemon, a Pokemon Trainer. A Pokémon Trainer is a person who captures wild Pokémon with Poké Balls, raises them, and trains them to battle other trainers' Pokémon.
Many Pokémon Trainers compete in a regional Pokémon League. To qualify for league competition, a Trainer must win a number of Gym Badges from various Pokémon Gym Leaders throughout the region through Pokémon Battles.
A person usually becomes a Pokémon Trainer when they are over eleven years old. Authorities chosen by the regional Pokémon League, usually a Pokémon expert such as Professor Oak, will allow a Trainer to choose their first Pokémon from three, which vary from region to region. Of course, those people who already have possession of a Pokémon, either as a pet or inherited through family, may eschew this process and start their journey with that Pokémon.
Pokedex: And finally, the most important thing in the Pokemon World, the Pokedex. My own invention. The Pokédex is an electronic device designed to catalogue and provide information regarding the various species of Pokémon. The name Pokédex is a neologism including Pokémon (which itself is a portmanteau of pocket and monster) and index.
When you encounter a Pokemon you will have nothing on them but their picture, not only until you capture a Pokemon will you be able to gain full comprehension and data on that pokemon.
The Pokedex holds not only pages of species of Pokemon but also a map of the region, the health of your current battling pokemon, a list of your complete party of pokemon, a complete profile on each pokemon, level, attacks, experience, ect. And a feature that allows your pokedex to view what your phycic type pokemon is viewing mentally.
Well, there you go, the trainer's basics. But there is one thing I didn't mention, the Pokemon League Staff has forbiden me to inform new trainers about this... but... i feel you three should know. There is an evil orginization known as Team Rocket about, you three be careful out there. You understand? Good. Your journey may become rocky, and difficult but you can overcome every obstacle along the way. You are... POKEMON TRAINERS!!!

Tai tends to be very nonchalant about things most of the time. He’s by no means easily intimidated, and gets angered, not easily, but above scarce. When someone he cares about is harmed, he does get very angry at the one who did it to them and will fight to the death to prevent it from happening again.
As you might assume from the above statement, Tai also has a strong sense of justice. However, he firmly believes that right and wrong are just concepts, and that it’s what you do and what you believe in that matters in the end. He personally thinks that the lives of others take priority over his own, though he’s by no means incredibly selfless. However, he will gladly risk his life so that someone else can keep theirs without so much as a second’s hesitation.
Tai lacks patience, and prefers continuous action to repetitive and monotonous situations. He may even look for trouble for the sake of entertainment.
History: Tai lived with his mother, that is until he hit ten, she died of a terrible illness. She was deathly sick until the end of her days, by ten he was able to fend for himself so he refused to be raised by Prof. Oak and lived alone until this day.
Before all this, when Tai was around five years old, he was playing in a river with his pal Poliwag. Poliwag was a gift from his father, before he left and never came back. He kept Poliwag as a memory of his father. But something went bad and he began to drown, Poliwag was there but couldn't help much. He evolved prematurally to help Tai. Tai had never really trained Poliwag, until he began living alone. Then he began training it, and now knows a good water-gun attack along with others.

Ty sighed. Yeah, so he had run to escape that crazy girl’s bag of doom, and now walked along the dirt path that cut a way through the large flower fields, Viridian City far in the distance. The boy was currently absorbed in checking his new pokedex.
“Charmander, mhm…What other pokemon are around here?” He asked the device, and it blipped.
After a few seconds, it let out a chime like sound.
“Pokemon Identified. List as follows: One: Pidgey, Two: Rattata, Three: Pokemon Unknown.”
Ty stopped walking, he looked at the picture of Pidgey and smiled, it looked very calm, and continued down. Pokemon Unknown?
He looked around for any sign of the unknown pokemon……when a shadow caught his eye and the boy did a double take.
The shadow was standing in the bushes, silently.
It was there, tall and imposing upon the back drop of peaceful green foliage.
Ty shuddered. It was staring at him; he could feel its eyes boring into his.
His eyes were watering, he couldn't maintain contact. Every fiber in his body told him to blink.
So he did.
And when the boy looked back, it was gone.
What had that been?
He wasn’t given time to think over that, as a small shape darted in front of him.
”Kerukroo!” The Pidgey screeched, its head lowered.
The cry of the pokemon shook off the remaining effects of the horrendous glare, and Ty removed the pokeball at his waist, ”Whoo! A feisty one! GO! CHARMANDER!”
The little orange pokemon came out, and then braced its legs as it faced the Pidgey.
“Alright! Charmander, Ember!”
The pokemon let out a stream of fireballs that surrounded around Pidgey immediately and began burning it.
The Pidgey squirmed, and then let out a gust of air that blew back the fireballs, and Charmander, its burned wings still very much active.
“Ah!” Ty shielded his eyes from the whipped up sand.
“Char!” Charmander righted itself in the air and landed.
“Scratch!” Ty pointed at the Pidgey, and Charmander charged, scraping the Pidgey in the air, wings and all.
“Go! Pokeball!” The boy threw the capsule at the Pidgey, and it opened, the bird pokemon sucked inside.
Both pokemon and human held their breath as the ball moved back and forth.
Ding! Pidgey was caught!
”Alright! Great job Charmander!” Ty patted Charmander on the head and it smiled. The boy went over, picked up the ball and clipped it on his waist, letting Charmander stay out for a while longer.
“A new friend! His name’s Gee.” Ty told Charmander, walking along the road, the orange pokemon waddling by his side. He had always had a flair for nicknames….although to some; it was more of an annoying habit….
“And you……” Ty thought.
“You’re name is Charco. After those powerful rocks that power up fire moves ….”
The Charmander grinned, and the two continued walking….
Through the flower fields…
Welp, there you go. Now lets get to the sign-ups.
