Peas are vegetables. And I think I remember hearing of pecan berries, too...and I think nuts qualify as fruit.

A vegatable grows under the ground(carrots, potatoes), fruit grows above the ground(apples, melons).
And pecan nuts grown on hickory trees, above ground. Pecan = fruit.
