Need help with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon

I just got Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team a few days ago, and I need help with the Sinister Woods Bosses. Caterpie came up to my team saying to rescue someone(It was a while ago, so I forgot who it was), and Gengar, Alakazam, and Ekans said they would get there first and I had to beat them there.

I got to the bosses, only to have Gengar curse everybody, and I ended up losing. This is my team. When I took the test the first time, I ended up getting Mudkip, so I stayed with Mudkip, since he/she's not one of the bad starters like Meowth/Psyduck/Skitty/etc, and I chose Charmander as my partner.

The pokemon I have befriended and can have join my rescue party are Magnemite, Nidoran, and Ledyba. Any suggestions for beating the rival rescue team? It would be nice to be able to beat them so Caterpie will move away from the front door of my rescue team base's door. Thanks.

Should I just train more in Makuhita Dojo? I have already trained there a bit and have beaten the grass, electric, and steel maze.

For starters, I was around level 14 when I went in there. Second, Mudkip has a ground over poison (First ground move he/she learns is mudslap, if I remember correctly) advantage against Ekans, and if Genger is part poison, them him too. Medicham is the one I had difficuly with, so bring a team mate that knows a flying move to finish off that guy. Or have you team mate run off with some graveler rocks and let him/her throw them from a safe distance while you concentrate on your two poison types. And btw, Skitty does NOT suck, you don't know how usefull she is on boss battles. Sing + Double slap= easy win.

I kill 'em all using Torchic (me) and Squirtle (my partner). And I through all the game using those 2. Until I defeat Rayquaza, I use Flygon to replace blastoise.
