I've thought of this frequently over the years. Frankly, I'd settle for a better series. But a Live Action Movie could be in the cards considering Pokemon's monstrous fanbase.

I have an idea I've been pondering over the years. It takes a more sci-fi route and has nothing to do with the series but I think it serves as a decent origin story to Pokemon.

For starters, it takes place 50 million years in the future. Yeah, I know, bear with me for a bit. After fundamentally fucking up the planet, humanity has been long extinct upon the Earth until a long orbiting sPace station with a repopulation colony that's been held in cryostasis reawaken after having overslept substantially.

They touch down on Earth to find that it has not only healed itself but plant and animal life has developed radical new abilities thanks to micro-portals in their DNA leading to pocket dimensions from which they draw their energy (Hence "Pocket Monsters")

Can humanity master a planet overtaken by superpowered wildlife?

Is it me or is this idea very popular, I made the same topics threads in many Pokemon forums.

Well since Transformers got a modern day remake... so why not a live action movie about Pokemon. but plotwise it should be inspired from Ash Ketchum's adventures.... which are boring me to death.... but it goes a different path like Transformers Movie was G1 inspired.

I am a cg artist so I get to go behind scenes of CG creatures and monsters and more or less know the tricks...

So far nobody has said why a live action film wouldn't work other than "it would look stupid".

It would be interesting to see it done as a live action movie.

If I did it I would have the plot directed some what similar to my RP...

Or just through out the plot all together just to show some battles and the final destruction of our poor planet... just a thought.

Also, they've already started production on the Dragonball movie so this might happen sooner than we think. If I were to come up with a story regarding the series it would probably base itself off of season 1 quite a bit but a few creative departures...mainly, everybody's alot more competent.

For starters, Pikachu is an escaped lab experiment from Rocket Labs, Ash would recieve him at thirteen and the rest of the film takes place a year later. The main plot surrounds Giovanni trying to get his Pikachu back for the Rocket Group. I gave 'em last names which you could take or leave.

Ash Ketchum- At 14, he's a prodigy Pokemon trainer who sPends most of the time trekking the wilderness training and capturing new Pokemon for behavioral study at the Oak Preserve. His love for his mom and deep resPect for Professor Oak aside, he's a misanthrope who only visits towns for occasional vet care at Pokemon centers and enter Gym Battles for training and prize money. A little bit of House meets Wolverine in a teenaged boy. He soon realizes that the secret society, the Rocket Group wants to take Ash's Pikachu back and he's not about to let them.

Misty Cascade- Tired of living in the shadows of her 3 older sisters, famous proprietors of the Cerulean City Gym, Misty longs to become a Gym Leader herself and attempts to prove her mettle by battling the next random trainer who challenges the gym; Ash. Handily beaten by him, she leaves home and the gym to start her own journey. Shortly after, she attacked by a team of Rocket agents and saved by Ash who inadvertently destroys her bicycle. She uses that as an excuse to follow him around and claim he owes her a new one but really she just doesn't want to be on her own anymore. And she just might like him.

Brock Stonewall- Breeder. Chef. Pickup Artist. Formerly a 16 year old Gym Leader who left that business to his parents and struck out on his own raise Pokemon he bred on his family's ranch. Brock joins up with the odd couple whom he knows from different backgrounds; Misty, a happy acquaintance he knows from fellow Gym Families and Ash, the gifted young trainer he's come to resPect greatly. Following them on the road to the Indigo League, Brock provides human company Ash can stand and insight to Misty's journey as well as providing meals that beat trail mix. The company Brock provides is only swayed when their are beautiful girls around needing to be seduced.
