I'm for it
I am against it

You forgot a neutral option.

i'd prefer if people were not neutral, because we all must make the tough choices at some point in our lives. shadows and dust.

Heheh.
Well in that case...

You cannot be neutral in such a matter.
people who don't contract their words sound like uptight pricks
For it. However, when using the word ma'am, the apostrophe is kind of annoying.
This should be debated rather than asked. The reason i say that is because every one who picks the langauge might not be sure if the really want that. The people who picks against the language might be unsure of their decision. So if we debate rather we have it or not people might come to a neutral decision.
i should have done "i am for it" and "i'm against it" to make a paradox.
I am all for it, yet I'm against it at the same time
Apparently it's frowned upon to use contractions in academic writing.

Both.

Yep my teacher too.
I've was never told that by any of my teachers. The only time I didn't use contractions was in essay papers because it made it helped with the word count.
Im all against it, i actually speak "proper" and no i dont have a Buckingham palace accent either.
Life... INSANITY IS KEY!!
it's true, using contractions in academic papers is frowned upon, just like using Wikipedia as a source on any kind of paper.

I don't think Dreaming Samurai knows what contractions are exactly.
I wish I could find my Dreaming Samurai sig from over the summer.
While typing people seem to forget the simple things like a comma or quote signs. Do you understand what I mean?
