I'm for it
I am against it
It still won't be hard considering most wiki pages that are worth writing papers about have citations.
oh snap. i forgot about that.
Although professors could make paper deadlines shorter and we're back to square one.
i dont know about the average student, but i can bullshit my way through a 7 page research paper in under 3 hours. did it my senior year and got the top grade which made me laugh for a while.
Yeah, I could to if I didn't despise buckling down. But to be fair college professors are more hip to bullshit then high school teachers.
havent had to do a college paper yet, and i know what you mean about buckling down. i prefer to do my school work in small sections taking frequent and long breaks.

You will be better off if you did not use contractions, for they are disrupting and make it so many words are much harder to understand. You would not want to incur my wrath. You probably will not survive, and definitely can not destroy me.
Sarcasm, obviously. Just going with it because I accidentally voted the wrong way.![]()

I caught my little niece on the system and I don't have a vote here anymore, so I can assume that she voted for me. I don't know what she voted but I am for them. They made it into the english language and I am afraid they're here to stay.
To Giant Squid, Fullmetal, My wife's english lit professor told the whole class that if anyone used a contraction (what he called 'an abomination) in their papers he would drop it two full letter grades, and if they turned in three such papers they would get dropped a full letter grade. That's a bit much, but it seems to mirror the trend in the academic world.

I don't really have a problem using them in speech unless you're in a formal situation.
The same goes for writing, I don't use them for anything academic unless I feel it adds to the tone of the piece.
