Its a very smart way to do things. Getting other opinions makes you final decision more well rounded than biased. If you're going to vote you should take into account EVERY opinion you can, seriously. No, the more facts you have, the more well rounded your decision. Opinions only tell you about the person giving them, not about the subject of the opinion. And yes, I do see the irony of expressing the opinion that opinions are worthless.
