Introduction
The flame kindles in the beacon of literature, as each person walks upon the mighty stadium: the RP Olympics has begun. In this intricate tale, woven by masters of writ, each man and each woman will decide through wit and determination who will stand victorious.
Each RP holds a power, a vibrant orb of wisdom. Each RP is special in its own accord, brilliant in its own way: but it is up to the esteemed athletes of the cause to decide: to decide which one would hold itself highest among the rest!
And so begins man's finest moment, competition.
The Rules
Any RP can be entered in the Olympics.
Personal RPs and collaborated RPs are both allowed to be entered in the Olympics, and will be judged equally. RP ideas must be original, and any trace of stealing will result in your immediate disqualification, as well as you being ostracized in the RP board as long as you remain in our domain.
If you are entering an RP that has ALREADY BEGUN, all posts made after the submission date are considered null and void. Only posts made before submission will be considered for judging.
If you are entering a new RP (‘New’ meaning that no IC posts have been made yet), all posts will be considered for judging until the Olympics’ closing date.
How do I enter my RP in the Olympics?
-Post your RP with –Olympics Entry- in the title and we will accept it after reviewing.
-If your RP have already been posted, contact the two judges, Peeki and Ninetails 009 and request for that to be added to your RP title.
-Specify which categories you want to enter your RP in, or if you’re confident enough to enter your RP for all categories, just specify ‘General Olympics’ in your first post.
All RPs will be accepted provided that they adhere to the Olympics rules, and were submitted within the signup date. RP Mods (Peeki/Ninetails 009 only) will not be allowed to enter their own RPs.
(Just to make it clear: Even though you're not the creator of a certain RP, but feel that it is worthy of submission, you are welcome to submit it for the Olympics unless the owner specifies otherwise)
Signups for the Olympics will be closed on 1st December 2007. Late entries will not be entertained unless you PM one of the judges specifically and give a good explanation why it should be allowed. Voting shall start exactly on that day.
The Olympics will be closed on 2nd January 2008, whereupon tallying of the votes will take place.

There are four main categories in the RP Olympics, mainly Characters, Plot Progression, and Egoistical Category. These four categories cater to all kinds of RPs, so RPs will be recognized for their individual merits. Though, as soon as the voting session is made, subcategories will appear.
Best characters
Focuses on the quality of the signups in an RP. It takes into consideration how crucial is each character essential to the plot and judges based on creativity of the personalities and histories of each character. To win this category, the RP owner would have to be strict about RP signups, and make sure that no character is neglected in the course of the RP.
Examples of an RP that has a high chance of winning this category:
-History and Personalities of each sign up is unique, and the actions of the characters in IC posts correctly reflect what is written in the signup form.
-The IC posts of every character is crucial to the plot, without even one, the RP would not be able to continue.

Plot progression
This category focuses on the progression of the RP. It judges mainly on the smoothness of the RP process, and how each IC post corresponds to another. The activity of the RP members is also very important. The final and most crucial factor is how far the RP has progressed from its initial starting point at the Olympics’ closing date.
Examples of an RP that has a high chance of winning this category:-There are minimal side stories in the RP
-Each character plays his/her role in the plot smoothly and accurately
-Members post often, ensuring that the RP goes quickly

Best detail
Focuses mainly on the initial plot of the RP. Does your RP plot cover the geography, history and setting well? IC posts in the RP will also be reviewed for how well they are able to correspond with the initial RP plot. The details within each IC post will also be taken into consideration.
Examples of an RP that has a high chance of winning this category:
-The plot of the RP gives readers an accurate impression of the setting
-Geographic and historic factors are taken into consideration
-RPers in the RP acknowledge these factors, and it can be seen through signups and IC posts.
A good example: Era of Ascent
Egoistical Category
This special category will not be a category to be nominated in. So, this would be left void until the voting session has commenced, since evidently it caters to people, not RPs.

Judging
There will be two different winners for Best Characters, Plot Progression and Best Detail. One is the Judge’s choice while the other is the Public’s Choice.
Judge’s choice
There are two judges, who are the RP mods Peeki and Ninetails 009. They will review all of the entered RPs, and announce their decision of the winners. The Judge’s decision is final, and no amendments will be made after the results have been announced.
Public’s choice
RP members and the general public are allowed to participate in the public’s choice. A poll will be put up containing the names of the entered RPs, and PD members will be able to vote for which RP deserves which prize. RP Members and the general public are allowed to participate in the public's choice. After the initial announcement has been made, another thread with the nominated RPs and categories will be placed, in which one would copy the list down and fill in their desired votes.
The fun part is that RPers will be allowed to campaign for their own RP. Gather friends, convince other people and promote your own RP to win. Any method of getting votes is allowed as long as it does not involve blackmailing people and mods.
Prizes
All winning RPs and RP members will be recorded in a Hall of Fame within the Role-Play Lexicon (if that is pushed through successfully). Trophies and banners will be personally made for the winners, and you gain the privilege of being recognized as a champion in the RP Olympics.
