Default STARDUST'S 1000 POSTS CELEBRATION THREAD.

This is my 1000 post, and I'm pretty glad to have finally reached it. So, let's talk about great movies since I have no idea what else to do with this.

    Princess Mononoke is pretty great.

Titanic was an epic movie, to win 11 Academy Awards. I do watch a lot of films, I'm anticipating Sweeney Todd that's being released 27th January, I do love Tim Burton's works and I'm a sucker for musicals. Also I'm looking forward to The Bucket List, a Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson film. I've harbored a love for classic Disney, dating back to the 30's with their first feature film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Cinderella and such. Other great movies were The Wizard of Oz, Singin' In The Rain, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Amelie, The Pianist, As Good As It Gets, Driving Miss Daisy and the movies in the series of SotL, Hannibal, Hannibal Rising and such.

Lord of the Rings, cinematic wise, was a brilliant trilogy. Parts of it were filmed in my town, and much of the production was done in Wellington with Weta Productions.

Yeah, I was watching a documentary on it and they did do a lot of filming in New Zealand. I want to live there when I'm older

Okay, this may sound a bit wierd, but did you see the Hobbit Holes? Or anything from the set?

Well, there was never an English dub so of course you watched it in French. xD It's one of, if not my favourite film.

I saw parts of the set, they were filming in Taita so I went down for a look, and some filming was done at Avalon studios as well. Still, a lot of the film was CG so there wasn't much to see. It's quite funny, in the movie there are storms and the weather looks terrible, but when they're filming it's a clear blue sky.

Which reminds me, do you think the Academy Awards will go ahead with the writer's strike in progress? The BAFTA Awards were on yesterday, and the Golden Globe awards were already broadcast but I haven't seen any so far so I'm curious to see the winners for 2007.

No celebrities showed up at the Golden Globes. None at all. Zero.

Why are the writers on strike anyways? They cancelled Desperate Housewives, and I love that show

Yeah, CG, Computer Graphics. The film was a little bit too reliant on CG, I'd like to see more natural films now that in the 21st century these special effects are dominating.

The Pianist is the most depressing Holocaust movie yet. It beats Schindler's List.
