its more glossy then the other kind of cards and a little more flimsy, does that mean anythig whether its fake or not?

If you want to tell if a Pokemon card is fake or not, just hold it up to the light. If you can see the other side through the side you are looking at, its fake.

Anyways, I'm going to say that its not. It may just be one of those Japan exclusive cards that you could only get in vending machines (yes, I read this in a card guide of mine), and your friend somehow got hold of it over the internet or something. Either way, if I were you, I'd hold on to it until you're able to determine if its worth anything or not. Even if it isn't, it still looks kinda cool.

You can also look at the bottom of the card in the right corner.Like for an example,if the card says something like 53/49,then you can tell if it's fake or not.

its not see through when you hold it up to the light, the font is legeble and there is no fraction-like number at the bottom right corner. All i am confused about is that it is alot glossier then other cards, the black and white pokeball edition symbol is one ive never seen before, and i know for a fact my freind didnt get it off of the internet. i am still confused.

i tried pokebeach but whenever i clicked on a link it brought me back to the homepage.

any comments or useful pieces of information are still very appreciated, but im starting to really give up hope on this card seeing how noone (except questionably 9 years in the making) has ever seen it before-ever. so my last two possibilities are that its a useless fake maybe worth a couple cents, or an EXTREMELY rare card that i might be able to trade in for a very shiny nickel. Whatever its worth i have absolutely no use of it. i lost intrest in the card game a few years ago and im not the type to collect something as small and flimsy as a valuble card.

It's a real card. I may have one post, but take my advice.
I've been with the Pokemon card game since right before it came to America.
This card is one from waaaay back. It was in one of the first few promos in Japan.
It's maybe worth $15-$20 in the condition it's in now.

But a very neat, and very real card!

It's not fake, just very old and not very common...lol

I think it is fake as i searched the islatro name in the japense anime website and no such istartor xsts or may that person deid but it looks fake

Holy hell, its not a fake card - -; Just because it doesn't look like a Ken Sugimori illustration, doesn't mean its fake. In Japan they used to hold contests for card designs, and whichever drawing the people who were judging the contests liked would go on a card. This is a legit card, and also happens to be a promo card that is indeed worth a nice chunk of change.
