Nah, my Mewtwo has Solarbeam, and it kicks ASS! I'm trying to get Calm Mind for it, at the moment. Because, Missingo, the only thing that you said that would be useful is Calm Mind. It will seriously pimp out your Mewtwo, and you will deal like 5x the damage, at full EV's.

And My Rayquaza fucking pwnz0rz my Mewtwo! So much faster. Mewtwo isn't made for speed, it's made for Sp. Atk! Can it learn Extremespeed? NO! Can it learn Outrage? NO!

Personally, I like mewtwo equally, but in power and speed...

    Rayquaza > Mewtwo.

Rayquaza's max possible speed is 317. mewtwo's is 394. Rayquaza's max special attack is 438. Mewtwo's is 447. Wtf are you talking about? And uh...with a calm mind off, it will deal 1.5 times the damage, and please...Don't say "EV's", because we both know you don't know what you're talking about.

Like I said, I'm willing to prove all of you adorable noobs wrong. Just PM me with your friend code.

I didn't say I had any authority, I just knew that no one else here knew the game like i do. I know it's REALLY impressive that you and your level 67's can beat your little brother and your neighbor, but seriously... You're bad. I am willing to prove this anytime, just PM with your friend code.
Who the hell do you think you're talking to? Pardon me for not knowing or really caring about EVs, IVs, and all that other nonsense, but that doesn't make you superior to anyone around here. I've put a lot of time and work into creating the team I have now, and I'm not going to have some egotistical jerkoff like you tell me that I'm bad. Level 67's huh? Pffft trust me, Pokemon with levels like those create my secondary team and don't even come close to what my real team is like. As of this moment I'm stuck in a place that doesn't have Wi-Fi, but I assure you when I get back home you'll have my code, and I will rip your sorry ass team apart.

Convenient. You'll "rip my sorry ass team apart" SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE.

And yeah, knowing about EVs, IVs, and all that "nonsense" does make me better than you. I have a better understanding of the game, so I really don't know why you think you have any chance at winning anything.

So you come at me with your solarbeam mewtwo, and I'll make sure to OHKO it

...or at least, when it's convenient for you.

Its not a matter of convenience, its fact. You don't have to believe me if you don't want to, but I'd never back away from a challenge, and I'm certainly not going to start now.

I'll be home by the 1st, so you'll have plenty of time to tinker with your teams EVs and IVs and get them in a position to attempt to 'One hit KO' my Natsu, which doesn't know Solarbeam anymore by the way. As I said earlier I was looking to teach it something that it could better benefit from.

"Natsu". That's cute. I know your need to validate yourself won't let you back away from an internet challenge, and that's why it's going to be funny to 6-0 you.

Pffft. I found that I was a better battler when I was four and couldn't even say the attack names (I only started learning to read when I was three ) than I am now when I know about that stuff.

My younger self would've beaten Yellow in a week. Now I still haven't beaten Diamond dispite getting it the first day it came out.

There are different battle strategies. You don't have to be a jerk when someone else feels that THEIR pokemon on THEIR team should have an attack that THEY like.

Oh well, Mewtwo is the fastest pokemon, even if he seems, "Floaty" in SSBM.

I dragged out an old post of mine from ages ago in case anyone cares.

    Max stats at level 100
    HP: 418
    Attack: 318
    Defense: 278
    Special (RBY): 406
    Special Attack (GCS): 406
    Special Defense (GSC): 278
    Speed: 358
    Effective against: Poison, Fighting
Not effective against: Psychic, Steel, Dark (can't hit)
    Resistant to: Fighting, Psychic
    Weak against: Bug, Ghost, Dark
    Suggested moveset
    Held Item (GSC): MiracleBerry

    Psychic
    Ice Beam
    Submission
    Recover

Holy cheese, is this thing dangerous! I must admit I never really bothered to fully absorb Mewtwo's stats and move options in the past as I knew he was simply "cheap" and that I personally would never use him...well, suffice it to say I can now see exactly why this particular Pokemon is barred in so many matches. Would you get a load of those offensive stats? Ouch! Not to mention he has options out the wazoo when it comes to great attacks...okay, so analyzing this guy isn't going to be easy, but I'll give it a whirl.

Mewtwo's Psychic has long been known to KO many opponents in a single blow, several of those being Pokemon who aren't even weak to Psychic type moves! Yes people, it's THAT powerful. A 135 base power (after STAB) move coming off that ridiculous 406 Special Attack is bound to leave a mark (read: crater), so if you're actually using Mewtwo this attack is a no-brainer... and if you happen to be fighting Mewtwo, well, be sure to leave the Fighters and Poison types at home as well as any Pokemon whose Special Defense is anything less than stellar. Of course, Mewtwo's Psychic was infinitely more intimidating in RBY as no types were immune to it and the only Pokemon resistant to it were Mewtwo's fellow Psychics (who were no more effective against Mewtwo than he was against them), but this is still an attack to be feared, respected and, above all else, planned for in advance.

You'd have to be insane not to select another powerful elemental attack to benefit from Mewtwo's whopping Special Attack, and Ice Beam happens to be my particular favorite. Not only is it super-effective (in addition to quad-effective) against more types than Flamethrower or Thunderbolt, it also possesses the greatest potential side effect in a 10% chance of freezing Mewtwo's opponent solid. Any of the powerful and accurate elemental beam-class attacks could work here, though...Flamethrower would come in handy against the Bug types Mewtwo is vulnerable to as well as the Steel types he isn't particularly effective against (both types of which are more plentiful and more powerful in Ruby/Sapphire...though there's currently no way to trade Mewtwo to these games, we assume he'll eventually be available via e-Reader cards or perhaps the upcoming GCN Pokemon game). Though Thunderbolt is only super-effective against Flying and Water types, you have to realize these types are more prolific than practically any other (there are currently more Water types out there than any other type, including Normal), and its bonus effect of paralysis is awesome as well.

Any bonehead could tell you that Submission is for the Dark and Steel types that are resistant to Mewtwo's Psychic assault (not that I think you didn't know that; I just have to mention it for the sake of being wordy). Fortunately the two most popular Dark types (Tyranitar and Houndoom) are extremely susceptible to this move; Tyranitar sports a debilitating quad-weakness to it and Houndoom...well...his weakness to Submission is singular, but his Defense just blows. Of course, Submission's 80% accuracy is decidedly risky and I do rather wish he could learn a more dependable Fighting type attack (Rock Smash, anyone? :p), but I'd still say the move is pretty much indispensable on this Pokemon. Most people are so busy drooling over Mewtwo's amazing Special Attack that they fail to realize his Attack also clears 300 (which would be certainly be amazing on any "regular" Pokemon), so rest assured that Submission on Mewtwo is not a wasted move slot, provided it actually lands.

Well...Mewtwo's defenses aren't nearly as impressive as the rest of his stats, but I'm giving him Recover anyway. To my knowledge there are no Pokemon that can outright OHKO Mewtwo (with the obvious exception of a Horn Drill/Fissure/Guillotine user or perhaps a Countering Blissey), so Recover is at least more useful on Mewtwo than it in on someone like Alakazam. In RBY Recover, along with Barrier and Amnesia, made Mewtwo well nigh unstoppable...in GSC the move has lost a bit of its "oomph", but it's still generally exceedingly useful on Mewtwo. If you want to be *incredibly* cheap you can Baton Pass Barrier and Amnesia to Mewtwo and make him invincible with Recover anyway, but come on, that would be just plain mean.

I recommend MiracleBerry on Mewtwo because I have always, I repeat, ALWAYS managed to beat him in battle myself by using Confuse Ray against him right from the get-go. A confused, paralyzed, sleeping, frozen or even burned Mewtwo is a hampered Mewtwo, so you'd better be packing MiracleBerry if you want Mewtwo to be at the top of his game. I'm not going to suggest any other item for him; while any of the more popular items could feasibly work on Mewtwo, I would say from my own experience against this monster that MiracleBerry is an absolute must (unless you happen to pseudo-pass him a Safeguard, that is).

Alrighty, it's time for the alternate move options. I might as well touch back on the ones I've already mentioned first...Ice Beam, Flamethrower and Thunderbolt are all excellent choices on Mewtwo and are all accessible in Crystal thanks to the Move Tutor. If you're playing Mewtwo in RBY you should absolutely consider Amnesia and Barrier; Amnesia will raise both Mewtwo's Special Attack AND Defense, and after a couple Amnesias and a couple Barriers Mewtwo will be essentially invincible thanks to Recover (barring a lucky Toxic, of course, which is more of a concern in RBY as held items didn't exist back then).

Though such a moveset will limit you to Psychic in terms of offensive attacks, with a 999 Special Attack (after Amnesia) and no Pokemon immune to the move in RBY, this Mewtwo has literally swept entire teams with the greatest of ease. Reflect and Substitute are interesting defensive alternatives should you find Barrier not to your liking, and while Mewtwo's own Speed is exceptional you might consider Thunderwave to soften up Mewtwo's opponent for the next Pokemon in your party (not that Mewtwo can't take care of it himself, naturally). Most trainers wouldn't dream of sacrificing their precious Mewtwo to defeat a single opponent, Selfdestruct is an option if you think you might need it (or just thing the idea of Mewtwo blowing himself to smithereens is beyond cool).

Finally, Shadow Ball is a rather popular substitute for Submission as it is also a powerful physical attack and will give Mewtwo the upper paw against other Psychic types. Just be aware that if you decide to go with this move you'll be completely screwed against Blissey...but really, who uses THAT?

Yes indeed, Mewtwo is one powerful and attractive Pokemon, I'll give him that much. Now I'm rather disgusted with myself for sounding so enthralled with his stats and moves, though. Considering how many people loathe Mewtwo for his utter cheapness (I don't particularly like that word, but there's really no other way to say it), I probably should've insulted him more. Meh.

For the record, I don't "hate" Mewtwo; I just never use legendaries because they're less of a challenge and less fun to raise (since you only get to train them for like 30 levels as opposed to 95...plus I have little respect for trainers who enter into a match with a full squad of legendaries with amazing stats and assume that makes them "unbeatable". Well, have fun raising this wholly intimidating monstrosity if you're so inclined...but be aware that you'll encounter relatively few trainers who are actually willing to battle a Mewtwo, and those that ARE will likely look down their nose at you for using one in the first place and will usually be more than prepared to deal with one.

I don't mind battling either of you, my friend code's 2750 0505 3890. Teresa, get your friend code and let's battle, trade stuff and have a good time. Ms Mod, I'll battle you if you want. Mind you, my team's based on favourites and not competitive battlers, so if you don't mind it I'm more than willing. My team has a Mewtwo too, that's the onlylegend I have in it. Care to test it?
