who here is not voting for obama and why. i will explain to you why you're wrong.
I have had to suffer the heavy weight of explaining to my bigoted family why Obama is the best candidate, and why the rest of them are fools for voting for Hillary Clinton or John McCain.
And Tim, when did you jump ship from an avid McCain supporter to Barack Obama?
Because Barack fully understands the world in ways McCain doesn't. Specifically in regards to national security. I always liked Obama better than McCain on every issue except national security, which I found too important to ignore, but reading more about Obama's views on the international situation, he has a full and real understanding of what works and what doesn't - moreso than McCain, and that was the ONE reason why I supported McCain, as I liked Obama more on every other issue.
To be honest, I always thought that John Edwards would have been a better candidate than Barack Obama, and I still hope he will win the VP. However, I think Barack has the trust of those below the poverty line, and with any luck, they would actually work with him instead of against him and those matters could be fixed.
If for no other reason, Barack is better than Edwards because he is black. I'm sorry but it is a legitimate reason to support him. If he was a shitty candidate than him being black wouldn't make up for it, but he isn't, so it can tip the scales. It would go a long way towards race relations in America, and seriously, race relations are still pretty fucking abominable, and not just in the SOUTH or something. Also Barack is more likable and inspirational, and that honestly is an extremely important quality in any world leader.
Plus Barack is a really smart guy. For example that 'bitter' comment was 100% correct. What Wright says is also about 98% correct, and you can tell Obama really does believe it - which is good.
If I could vote, I would vote for Obama.
Just think, Obama will a historical president. The very first black one! (Same would go for Hilary as the first women, but I think we need to find someone a bit more... efficient than her.)
