Well technically the first humans were mostly furred and highly reminiscent of apes, but I suppose their skin would have been black yes, coming from Africa and all. But then again, not all African animals have black skin. Hmm, that is a conundrum.
But the originators of humans in their current biological state were black.

Skin pigment.
Although, allow me to contradict my above statement by saying... It's scientifically proven that people who receive more sun have higher libidos which lowers intelligence. So people who live nearer the equator are more likely to receive more sun, have darker skin pigment and be less intelligent.
However to say someone is unintelligent based only on their skin pigment is well... Racist and stupid to say the least.
