Pokemon X & Pokemon Y Walkthrough - Coumarine City
Coumarine City
As you enter Coumarine City, Serena will Holo Cast you, challenging you to a battle in front of the gym. Before you do that, run some errands in the city. Go into the house near the lighthouse and talk to the old man for a Silk Scarf. Near that house is an incense booth where a merchant sells a variety of incense Pokemon could hold for various effects. As you go east, talk to the Fisherman by the Yachts. He'll give you a Good Rod, which is better than the Old Rod you received some time ago.
Once you hit the Monorail Station, go north into Coumarine Hotel. Talk to the girl with her Marill to get a Lucky Egg, which gives the Pokemon holding it 50% more experience points after battle. That's huge! Upstairs, talk to the girl in the middle room to get a Smile Ribbon. The Game Director is in the third room. Talk to him after you've filled up your Pokedex to get something...
Outside the hotel, answer the girl's quiz question to get a different TM every day. Now head into the Monorail Station.
Inside the Monorail Station, you'll meet up with Professor Sycamore's assistants. One of them gives you HM02 Fly. After obtaining your next badge, you'll be able to instantly fly to whichever city you've already visited. Now take the monorail. Once you get off the monorail, talk to the guy on your right to get a Metronome.
Heal your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center to the left of the station. Once again, you'll find Mr. Bonding in the corner and he'll give you the Befriending Power Lv. 1 O-Power. In the house directly south of the Pokemon Center, the girl in the corner can mimic the cry of a Pokemon on your team. If you can guess correctly which of your Pokemon she's imitating, she'll give you a Poke Toy. Head north from there towards the gym.
Before you enter the gym, Serena will challenge you to a battle.
After defeating here, head into the gym to get your fourth gym badge!
Before you go inside, pick up the Sky Plate along the side of the gym.
Plant Badge
Trainers in the Courmarine City Gym specialize in Grass-type Pokemon. Fire-type Pokemon is the way to go. Navigate through the series of ropes to eventually get to the gym leader.
Ramos is the gym leader here. He uses a Lv. 30 Jumpluff,
Lv. 34 Gogoat,
and Lv. 31 Weepinbell.
Leader Ramos gives you the Plant Badge for defeating him. Now, Pokemon up to Lv. 60
will obey you and you can use Fly outside of battle. He also gives you
TM86 Grass Knot. Afterwards, take the slide down.
As you leave the gym, Lysandre Holo Casts you, letting you know he's learned you know how to Mega Evolve now. Continue south into the gateway.
Professor Sycamore's assistants come by to give you the Mountain Kalos Pokedex. After they leave, talk to the guy standing by the wall to get a Black Sludge. Continue on to Route 13.
Route 13
Route 13 has a new type of terrain. You'll see outlines of underground wild Pokemon
running towards you. Once they hit you, you'll be battling them.
Sometimes, there will be strong winds that make it hard to move around.
There are a ton of items to pick up on this route, so let's get started!
Go east past the second power plant gate to the end of the strip of land. Pick up the
hidden Fire Stone.
Continue along the side to the third power plant gate.
Jump over to the island to pick up a Flate Plate..
Go back north and go down the west side of the route. Take the roller skate rail west. Take the rail north to pick up a hidden PP Up on the rock. Smash the rock to pick up an Ether. Head southwest and up the hill to pick up TM57 Charge Beam. Go back and head south from where you were, being careful not to jump over the ledge. Smash the rock and pick up the Burn Heal inside.
Head south past the Scientist. Take the roller skate rail, head south once you get off, and pick up the Sun Stone. Head west.
When you cross the bridge, a Team Flare Grunt battles you. After defeating him, he stupidly reveals he dropped his Power Plant Pass nine steps east of where he's standing. Obviously, find that boulder and pick up the Power Plant Pass. Pass in hand, enter the Kalos Power Plant through the power plant gate.
Kalos Power Plant
Inside Kalos Power Plant, head north through the passage. When you get inside,
a Team Flare Grunt comes by and battles you. Go into the room to the right.
Inside, you learn Team Flare has taken over the power plant to steal electricity.
Pick up the Zap Plate. Go out and head north. Another Grunt battles you.
Enter the next room. As you go around the walkway, you'll battle more Grunts.
Go up the steps and you'll find two Team Flare folks up to no good.
They take turns battling you, but of course you show them who's boss.
After defeating them, they leave, and two vigilantes with masks show up to give you
two Full Restores.
Hooray! You helped restore power to Lumiose City. Before you head back, go back into the room you first entered to get TM43 Flame Charge from the first person you see. The Scientist gives you a Magnet. Now, leave the Kalos Power Plant and head south down the steps.
To Lumiose
After heading down the steps, you'll see a ginormous man talking about Flower Pokemon
and walk away. That was...weird. Go south and east. Smash the rock to get a Heart Scale.
There's a hidden Stardust near where you smashed the rock.
Smash the next rock for a Hard Stone. Pick up the Rare Candy.
Proceed past the gateway and you'll be in Lumiose City.
