Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, FireRed/LeafGreen - BerryDex

Berries are a variety of fruit found in the Hoenn region. In Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald & FireRed/LeafGreen, there is a seperate pocket for the 43 different types of Berries. Some of these restore HP, fix palalysis, and get your PP back on track. All of these can be mixed in Berry Mixers to make PokeBlocks. PokeBlocks help your Pokemon improve in certain areas of a Contest. The colors of the fruits tell you which area the Pokemon improves in if eaten. Below is the legend:

Red - Cool
Blue - Beauty
Yellow - Tough
Green - Smart
Pink - Cute

Once you obtain a Berry, you may also plant it in the ground and wait for it to grow. However, it takes a long time. To make the Berries grow quicker, water the Berries with the Wailmer Pail, which can be obtained in the flower shop on Route 104. The growing time listed below shows only normal growing time in hours.

Unlike in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, you can't just pick Berries off a tree in FireRed/LeafGreen; it's much harder to obtain Berries. You must either get it from a wild Pokemon, a Berry Man, or trade it over from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/Colosseum.
